How Do You Find An HONEST Debt Settlement Company?

Learn how to avoid all the horror stories and find an honest & reliable debt settlement company!

If you're overwhelmed with credit card debt and you're considering debt settlement, now comes the hard part - finding a decent company that's honest, reliable, and won't rip you off!

When you start looking into debt settlement, you'll hear LOTS of horror stories. Which is too bad. Because it's a perfectly honest and legal way to get out of debt.

But Isn't Debt Settlement Just Another "Get Out Of Debt Fast" Scam?

Not at all. It worked for me - with no problems at all. Personally, I don't think there's that many dishonest companies out there. I just think many of them do a bad job of educating people about what debt settlement really is (an aggressive approach to getting out of debt), and how it really works.

Which leads to many of the complaints you read on the Internet from unhappy customers and so called "financial experts" (yeah, right!) who incorrectly call debt settlement a scam.

You see, finding a company that will tell you the truth and will work hard to get you the best results is not that difficult - not any more difficult than it is to find a good insurance agent, a good plumber, or a good dentist. You need to do your homework ... shop around ... and become an educated consumer!

So, How Do You Go About Finding An Honest And Reliable
    Debt Settlement Company?

    • TIP # 1 - Shop around. There are many debt settlement companies out there - many are good, some are bad. So take the time to shop around and compare your options! Visit our debt settlement company directory to compare more than 50 companies.

    • TIP # 2 - Make sure you ask lots of questions (as you would when hiring anyone to do work for you). Ask about fees, how they'll settle your debts, how they'll help you with calls from your credit card companies, how you'll pay off your bills - and keep asking until you get the answers to ALL of your questions - or go back to tip #1.

    • TIP # 3 - Check with the Better Business Bureau. Find out how many complaints have been filed, and see how well the company responds to those complaints. You can also type the company name into Google and see what others have to say.

    • TIP # 4 - Get everything in writing BEFORE you get started. Otherwise, if you don't have an agreement in writing, you run the risk of getting ripped off! So ask for a copy of the agreement BEFORE you sign it, then read it carefully - know exactly what you are getting into (and trust your instincts - if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!)

    • TIP # 5 - Follow up. Contact the company settling your debts weekly - ask for a regular progress report. The credit card accounts are still in your name, so you deserve to know what is happening with your accounts. Debt settlement does take some time, but no news is NOT always good news!

If debt negotiation does not sound right for you... You might want to consider a more traditional debt reduction program like debt consolidation (or credit counseling). You might not get out of debt as fast. But you can still lower your interest rates - maybe even lower your monthly payments - and still get out of debt faster and save you a lot more money than doing nothing!

I would be happy to share with you my experiences using debt settlement, and how it worked for me. Please send me an email (or send an email to support@debt-tips.com) with your questions and concerns, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Then you can decide for yourself.
