Many people dream of working at home and making lots of money. For some people, this is a reality. There are lots of businesses you can run from your home. And all take time and effort to build into a "real" home business. Here are some examples:

- home child care & babysitting
- bookkeeping & accounting
- service businesses (like plumbing, home repair, etc)

- online businesses
You can make money from any one of these businesses. And you can work from home, be your own boss, and set your own schedule. But none of them offer you the opportunity to get rich overnight. As with any business, it takes time to build your business, build up a customer list, and make enough money to quit your "day job."
Sadly, for many of those people with the dream of working at home, they think there are "secret" ways to making lots of money - without doing lots of work! And unfortunately there are plenty of scams that promise a life with fancy cars, big homes, and days spent sitting at home in your pajamas.
Certainly, there are legitimate resources that will teach you how to work from home and actually make money. But most of what you will find are either scams (that offer you little useful information) or "gurus" (who may have made some real money) but will charge you a fortune to learn their methods. Either way, you are wasting your money.
So, here are several tips for avoiding work at home scams:
1) Don't believe everything you read or see. It's easy to make up numbers, make fake photos of income checks, find pictures of exotic cars and huge mansions, and make up fake testimonials.
2) Don't pay for lists of "real" work from home jobs. While some of these may contain real jobs, you can usually find these same jobs at online job websites. And many of these lists are actually just instructions telling you how to find jobs by searching the Internet.
3) Don't respond to any emails you receive that you did not sign up for. Spam emails often make bold promises and deliver nothing of value.
Then How Do You Find "Real" Work AT Home Jobs?
Use common sense. Don't expect to make money without putting in some time and effort. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. And don't trust everything you read, see, or hear - most of the "experts" got rich selling their junk, not by doing anything special.
