Hoffman, Brinker, & Roberts (HBR) is a debt settlement company for consumers with high credit card debt. I became aware of HBR when I started Debt-Tips.com and was looking for reputable companies to recommend to others (the company I used went out of business, not surprisingly, so I could not recommend them).
Sadly, when reading through the various debt reduction forums, it became obvious that there was a lot of bad information and unhappy customers out there. Debt settlement, to my surprise, had a bad reputation.
The first company I found that did not have all the negatives was Hoffman, Brinker & Roberts.
In fact, HBR is one of the few debt settlement companies that actually tries to educate consumers about the process BEFORE taking them on as clients. Which leads to fewer complaints, and happier customers. I think most people who complain about debt settlement are ones who didn't really know what they were getting into, and were looking for a "magic solution" to their money problems.
Over the past few years, I've spoken with Mark Brinker (the owner) several times. And he takes great pride in making sure his clients know the truth about debt settlement. And he only wants to take on clients he can truly help.
Which means you must have a serious financial hardship. Their philosophy is that if you owe the money and you have the ability to pay, then you should honor your financial obligations. Period.
And you must have funds available to use toward a settlement. They don't collect money for you. And they don't offer "financing". Sure, this makes becoming a client of Hoffman Brinker not quite as easy as other companies. But in the end it gives you, the client, much more leverage with the creditor. And can save you more money, in a shorter time period.
If you have so much debt that you're considering bankruptcy, Hoffman, Brinker, & Roberts is an excellent company to work with!
